About

Parent Metal Products

Parent Metal Products has been in continuous operation since 1921. Originally founded by W.A. Parent and his son W.E. Parent in Pittman, New Jersey, Parent Metal started as a manufacturers’ representative and materials engineering firm. After moving to Philadelphia and operating out of the Bourse Building at Fourth and Market streets, the company switched gears and became an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of stools, chairs, work benches, and cabinets.

Parent Metal Products continued to grow and operate in Philadelphia, moving to four additional locations between 1928 and 1982. At that time, a new ownership group bought the company and continued its steady expansion. In 1997, Parent Metal Products moved to a state-of-the-art facility in Bensalem, PA. Utilizing the larger location and more efficient technology, the company was able to generate new, more comprehensive product lines. Today, Parent Metal manufactures an extensive array of products including storage cabinets, bookcases, stock carts, dormitory furniture, workbenches, teacher desks, lockers, and shelving systems. By using the latest equipment, including computerized brakes, turret presses, roll formers, spot welding, and powder-coated finishes, the company has continued to pace the industry in product excellence.

For nearly 100 years, Parent Metal Products has been proud to manufacture exclusively in the USA.
