About Parent Metal Products

Parent Metal Products has been in continuous operation since 1921. Founded by W.A. Parent and his son W.E. Parent in Pittman, New Jersey, Parent Metal started as a manufacturers’ representative and materials engineering firm. After moving to Philadelphia and operating out of the Bourse Building at Fourth and Market Streets, the company switched gears. It became an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of stools, chairs, work benches, and cabinets.

Parent Metal Products continued to grow and operate in Philadelphia, moving to four additional locations between 1928 and 1982. At that time, a new ownership group bought the company and continued its steady expansion. In 1997, Parent Metal Products moved to a state-of-the-art facility in Bensalem, PA. By utilizing this larger location and its more efficient technology, the company was able to generate new, more comprehensive product lines.
